Bramcote College is a member of The White Hills Park (WHP) Trust, a group of academised schools united in a mission to provide the very best opportunities for young people - with shared values, shared commitment to our locality and shared commitment to excellent outcomes.

The trust is founded on the principle that by working together, its schools become beacons of outstanding practice and provide opportunities and benefits for its pupils and local communities.

Schools in the trust are autonomous bodies, each with its own leadership, management and distinct character. However, they share an ethos and common values and believe that we are stronger together. The role of The White Hills Park Trust is to empower its schools and support them by unlocking the benefits of working together:

  • Making the most of resources
  • Running its schools with maximum efficiency
  • Bringing about continual School Improvement
  • Developing its workforce
  • Providing opportunities for pupils
  • Becoming a force for good in local communities
  • Establishing effective governance and leadership

What is a Multi-Academy-Trust?

In simple terms, a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) is where two or more schools have joined together to form one organisation, governed by one single Board of Trustees. That trust board is responsible for the schools (academies) within the trust, and is answerable to the trust's Members.  Members of the Trust are a group of independent people who are responsible for the strategic oversight of all academies within the Trust, with a similar role to that of shareholders of a company.

In the White Hills Park Trust, where a focus is on retaining autonomy for the member schools, many powers are delegated to the Local Governing Body (LGB) of each school.  The LGB has a role and membership similar to that of a traditional school governing body.
