Welcome from the Headteacher
Thank you for your interest in Bramcote College.
We are an 11-18 Academy situated alongside Bramcote Park. There have been schools on our estate since 1948, under different names throughout the years, allowing thousands of local children to begin their journey with us.
We admit children into Years 7 to 11; more details of how to apply for a place with us can be found on our admissions page.
Bramcote College 6th Form, our post-16 provision, offers a range of academic and vocational subjects. Rated as 'Good' in our recent Ofsted inspection, our Sixth Form provision ensures that "students are very well supported to achieve their ambitions." More information, including subjects offered and how to apply, can be found on the Sixth Form section of this website.
We want the best for all our students and have the highest expectations. Although we recognise how important academic performance is, Bramcote College is about much more than exam success. We develop our young people and place a high value on enrichment and on providing learning opportunities that inspire our students both in and outside the classroom. We recognise that every moment in school is a learning moment and that this contributes to the sense of belonging we foster.
We work closely as a staff body and together with students, parents and governors, we ensure that our students make good progress.
Our latest Ofsted report (2024) states that "pupils are happy and appreciate the opportunities that the school gives them... There are high expectations for pupils' behaviour. Classrooms are calm and orderly. Around school, pupils are polite and respectful. Pupils are well-prepared for their next stages in education and beyond."
Our strong pastoral care system, rooted in our ethos and values, means that we know our students well and recognise how to bring out the best in them. Our recent Ofsted report (2024) recognises that "the school provides excellent pastoral support. Pupils trust staff to keep them safe and know who they can turn to if they need help or guidance."
We are proud of the school we are and excited about the school we are becoming. We hold open evenings in the Autumn Term for both Year 6 and Year 11 prospective students and their parents - we look forward to welcoming you to our school.
